Would You do it For Free?
Mar 11, 2026
I would.
Which is why I sometimes forget that what I do is also an actual job.
I used to give my work away for free. All. The. Time.
And I did it because I love what I do.
It's a great gift to spend your days doing the work you love. To devote yourself to the mission Hashem chose for your soul at this time. Feeling driven by something much higher than the daily grind.
At the core of Azamra Breathwork is YHVH consciousness - the name of Hashem that fuels everything we teach, learn, and practice in the space.
Recently I came across something that deepened that framework to a beautiful new level.
The four letters YHVH can also describe the arc of human purpose.
Yud is the spark of desire. Ratzon/Will
Hei is that desire's expansion into talent and understanding. Kochot/Strength
Vav represents the connection into the world. Shlichut/Mission
Hei is the manifestation in lived reality. Parnasa/Income
Establishing our purpose is a sequential process.
First there’s the inner pull.
Then the development of gifts.
Then the mission those gifts serve.
And finally, the part we sometimes feel uncomfortable talking about.
Livelihood.
Which is where I used to get tripped up.
Because loving the work so much sometimes meant I didn’t pace myself well. Or my students. Or market what we’re actually doing properly.
Those of us drawn to this work generally tend to be values driven, heart led and called.
And sometimes we forget that the work is also a livelihood. Something we’re allowed to charge for, build a life around, and take care of ourselves with.
I still remember the joy I felt when my fledgling practice earned enough one year to cover my training tuition.
The next year it covered my kids’ tuition.
And the year after that I was doing more and more of the work I kept falling in love with while also earning enough to support my family and our lives.
I love watching my students step into that place too.
I love sharing training space with people who give as open heartedly as I do.
And I especially love watching students who thought they were “doing this for themselves” suddenly realize they’re becoming real providers.
Emotionally, spiritually, and also financially.
Because finding our purpose isn’t just a good coaching strategy.
It’s literally the flow of divine expression through a human life.
And that final piece, building meaningful income from meaningful work, is the one I often forget to talk about.
So we’re going to talk about it.
On Monday morning we’re hosting an Azamra Breathwork Clarity Call on Zoom where we’ll open the conversation about the work itself, the training, and what it actually looks like to build a practice that’s both deeply aligned and financially sustainable.
If you’d like to join us, reply to this email and I’ll send you the invite.
And if someone in your world is a seeker, or someone who’s already living a life of mission and values, forward this email to them.
Azamra might be calling.
