What's 100 Pennies Worth?
Jul 29, 2026
When I was a little girl, the Rebbe sent me a dollar.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe and his dollars were legendary. The crisp bills were arranged to be sent directly from the US mint, never before touched or circulated, and the Rebbe would hand them out to thousands of people, asking each person to pass the dollar along to charity.
Most people kept their Rebbe dollar and gave another dollar to tzedakah instead.
Because that dollar was not a dollar.
It was so much more.
If you don’t know anything about Rebbe dollars, Google them. The internet is full of miracle stories people have shared over the years.
Like my friend’s parents, who didn’t have children and went to the Rebbe for a blessing. He gave them two dollars. Within the year, they were blessed with twins.
That dollar wasn’t worth 100 pennies.
It was hope. A prayer, a promise, a miracle.
What’s a dollar worth?
That all depends.
Here's my invitation, I’d like to invite you to take one dollar, or more precisely, $1.12, and discover just how far it can go.
It's based on the content within my Vessel course, and I’ll tell you more about the experience next week. But first, I want to tell you why.
I didn’t know about the Rebbe’s dollar that had been sent to me until I was an adult. I heard about it four years ago, just as I was about to undergo surgery during my second bout with cancer. It was during one of the loneliest summers of my life, and that dollar story could not have come at a better time.
Determined to find the dollar before my procedure, I ransacked my childhood home.
Because that dollar wasn’t a dollar.
It was an anchor. A blessing. An assurance. A trusted voice I desperately needed to hear, reaching out to me through time. The past supporting the present as I prepared to face an uncertain future.
Spoiler: I never found the dollar.
(Although I’m pretty sure it will show up exactly when it is meant to, still safely nestled behind the baby picture that used to hang in the kitchen.)
But I received it anyway.
I received the blessing. I received the assurance. I received the message hidden for me like a time capsule, a story waiting 30+ years for the right moment to reach its intended audience.
A reminder that something so simple can hold value far beyond what it appears to be worth.
I recently read in Rabbi Avigdor Miller’s book about money that the very concept of money is a miracle.
How extraordinary is it that the entire world has agreed to assign tremendous value to otherwise insignificant pieces of paper? A world that cannot agree on almost anything has somehow agreed to participate in this shared delusion.
Every dollar is therefore, in fact, a miracle.
When you really understand that, 100 pennies are no longer just 100 pennies. They’re possibility. They’re potential. They’re representative of something limitless we somehow hold in our hands.
In honor of the dollar that held me through one of my darkest times, I want to offer you an experience of your own.
The experience I’ve created for you, will be held over Zoom on Wednesday, August 12. It’s open to men and women, and it will not be recorded.
The investment is $1.12.
Why $1.12?
For absolutely no reason other than the fact that it is the gematria of my name, and that number makes me oddly and unreasonably happy.
The Rebbe dollar, worth so much more, inspired me to give you something "more" too.
I’m going to give you a 100x return on your investment. Literally.
I may not have the Rebbe’s dollar in my hand.
But I still received its value.
And I want to pass some of that value on.
How far will your dollar go?
How many lives can a dollar touch?
For $1.12, who else in your world deserves to experience something worth far more than 112 pennies?
